Hola my angels! Hope you’ll are doing fab as always! Today’s blog is something I had in my mind since a long time, and always wanted to share this with you’ll So finally here I’m sharing some amazing tips that would help you get your boho styling game on point! Now before I even actually get to the point let me just start with what exactly is this boho style ? You might have come across many Instagram influencers and models flauting the so called #bohostyle on their feed! So for those of you’ll who’ve been wondering what is this Boho style, Boho stands for Bohemian, and signifies a style of dress inspired by the lifestyle of free spirits and hippies of the 1960s and 1970s.
What is Boho style ?
Boho style is particularly related to wearing long flowing or tiered skirts and dresses, loose fitting blouses, ethnic touches like antique pieces of jewelry, embroidery or embellishment with beading, fringed handbags, and jeweled or embellished flat sandals or flat ankle boots. The look is often layered and colorful. This sounds really cool right? But many a times we go overboard and do a little extra out of our enthusiasm and end up with a fashion disaster! So here are a few do’s and don’ts when it comes to boho styling which I’ve learnt over a period of time watching fashion experts and learning from them. So let’s just quickly start with them.
1. Loose garments-
Let’s just first talk about the Do’s. Bohemian style is all about keep it loose, comfy and easy breezy! So look out for outfits which are a flowy, loose and flare. Long dresses, flared skirts, over sized t-shirts, baggy or harem pants would be a perfect choice! Zaful has a great collection when it comes to Boho maxi dresses! You can check out their collection here!
2. Prints matter –
Boho style relates more to the hippy vibes so opt for outfits with tribal prints. Abstracts and floral prints also go well with boho style.
3. Adding layers-
Boho style is also characterised by adding layers to your outfit in the form of jackets, shrugs, scarfs, etc. When you doing so make sure you aren’t going overboard with it.
4. Adding jewellery-
Boho style is all about showing your free spirited nature. So throw in those funky pieces of jewellery, statement neckpieces, large finger rings, long earrings, loads of bracelets and much more. P.S You do not need to do this all at one time. Select your jewellery wisely. Make sure you know where to stop when it comes to wearing them.
5. Accessories for your outfit-
Unlike other styles, boho style gives you the liberty to add a lot of accessories to your outfits as well like in the form of belts, body chains, hats, cool bags with fringes, ankle boots and much more!
6. Makeup and hair-
Now talking about the don’ts, bohemian style is all about being natural so do not go too heavy with the makeup. Just the right amount that would save you from looking washed out is all you need! Coming to the hair, loose braids, beach curves are perfect for boho style but it’s not a mandate to follow it.
Heels, wedges, stilettos do not really go well with bohemian look, hence stay away from them. Studded or embellished flats, boots, gladiator sandals are just perfect and on point in this case.
8. Be picky-
Well like I said earlier, boho style gives you an option of choosing from so many accessories and stuff, that you’ll get tempted often to do wear many things at a time, so be a bit picky and choose only one thing at a time. Like for example, either opt for a hat or a headband, never both together, likewise opt for either bracelets or statement finger rings at a time.
So guys with this I’ve come towards the end of this blog. Pls note here, these were some of my personal tips and not necessarily be agreed to by everyone 🙂 We all have our unique style game. So it all matters on how well you fair in it, irrespective of how you played it! So cheers! Enjoy experimenting with fashion! At the end it’s all about being happy in whatever you do!
