Hola my angels!! With monsoons at its peak in India, I’m sure most of you’ll would love to read something interesting on weekends while sipping in some hot coffee! So here’s a mid week delight for all my readers! A blog that I did recently in collaboration with Unnati Silks, where I tried to add some tadka to the desi Indian look! I created this indo western look using this cotton kanchi handloom saree from Unnati Silks.
Unnati Silks – Introduction!!
Unnati Silks is a saga of “handlooms for woman” that began in 1980. Being almost 3 decades in silk and cotton textiles Unnati Silks has become a preferred choice of customers for buying genuine silk cotton handlooms like sarees, salwar suits, kurtas, kurtis, or any other Indian ethnic wear.
The man behind this brand is none other than Mr. Devendra Gopal Ladha. Under his leadership Unnati Silks has covered a long journey from being a single room set up to a well managed family enterprise with global recognition today!
Saree styling for Unnati Silks!
Coming to the saree I’m wearing, this one’s a pure handloom kanchi cotton saree which you would spot in many South Indian woman’s wardrobe. This saree has embroidered bootis all over with an intricate border in contrast color. Being very simple in look and design this saree would be a perfect choice for those with minimalistic approach. This saree would be an ideal choice for office wear.
I personally love to add a little glamour to my sarees and hence I decided to go indo western for this one! Being very simple in design I decided to add a little bling to the look with a golden blouse! Contrast is the new sexy, keeping this in mind I decided to mix and match this saree with one of my existing golden blouse from closet! To my surprise it worked perfectly well with the pink kanchi saree !
2018 is the year for fusion! Hence I chose my low waist slit jeans to add a little bit of oomph to the whole look! Honestly I had never tried something insane like this before! But experimenting with sarees is something I love doing hence I decided to give this a shot! Not wanting to loose the Indian essence of the look, I went for a low bun hairdo with a bindi to complete the look.
Adding Variations !!
I know it might not be so easy for everyone to relate to this look, but yes you can definitely flaunt this look by adding a bit of modifications to the original look! Like for instance you can opt for a bell sleeves shirt or top instead of such blouse. More over you can replace the jeans with a flared skirt of your choice. Its all about what works best for you my loves ❤! Likewise you can even drape the saree in an all together different manner. The more you’ll play with the fabric the more innovative you would get!
Coming to accessories, if you notice in my other blogs too I love to keep it simple. Same goes with this look. I chose to wear plain black velvet earrings and a black oxidized bangle to add little boho touch to it. And off course you guys know how much I love my heels! This look wouldn’t be complete without having to pair it with my favourite pair of red stilettos 😍 ! This completes the whole look and so does the blog!
